Fred Thompson shoulda woulda coulda

Having been a single parent, I decided to enroll in a parenting class. The thesis of the class was consistency. Consistency is vital to instilling trust and security, not only to a child, but to the American people.

Ironically, consistency is what hampered Fred Thompson’s campaign. While Romney, McCain, and Huckabee tailored their messages and resumes to suit the demographic du jour, Thompson remained true to himself, his record, and his party never altering his message or resume. It is one thing to boast about straight talk and an entirely different thing to walk the straight walk.

Higher taxes, pro-life, and shamnesty, were part of all the top republican candidates’ resumes except one – Fred Thompson. Yet no one seemed to care. Fred’s lack of blind ambition was too foreign a concept to the illiterates who could only surmise it meant lethargy. I am not part republican or part conservative and I will not accept a nominee who is only part conservative. The time to wake up has passed and it is too late to elect a President who is true to the values and principles we true conservatives hold dear.

Come Back Shane! Oops I mean Fred
